How to split pdf

Splitting extracts pages from a PDF, either separating every page into its own file or pulling out specific ranges. Useful for sending one section of a long report without sharing the whole document.

  1. 1

    Choose your PDF

Drop a single PDF onto the upload area.

  2. 2

    Pick what to extract

Choose to split every page into separate files, or enter ranges such as "1-3, 5, 8-10" to extract specific sections.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Click Split. A single range downloads as one PDF; multiple ranges are listed for individual download.

Your files never leave your device

Unlike most online PDF tools, this one uploads nothing. Everything runs inside your browser, so your document is never transmitted, never stored on a server, and never seen by anyone but you. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the internet entirely and the tool still works.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Every operation runs inside your browser. The file is read into memory on your own device, processed there, and offered back to you as a download. It is never sent to a server, never stored, and never seen by anyone else. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works.
What range format is accepted?
Comma-separated pages and ranges, such as "1-3, 5, 8-10". Page numbers are 1-based, and ranges beyond the document length are clamped to the last page.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. A password-protected PDF must be unlocked first — use the Unlock tool with the document’s password, then run this tool on the result.
Does the original file change?
No. The original is never modified — splitting produces new files and leaves your source document untouched.
