PDF metadata is the document’s title, author, subject, and keywords. It is what shows in a reader’s properties panel and in search results, and it often carries more information than people expect.

Why would I edit metadata?
Two common reasons: to make a document findable and correctly attributed, or to strip identifying details such as an author name or originating software before sharing a file publicly.
Does this remove all hidden data?
It edits the standard document information fields. It does not strip embedded XMP packets, annotations, or revision history. To remove sensitive content from the pages themselves, use the Redact tool.
Can I edit metadata on a protected PDF?
Not directly. A password-protected PDF must be unlocked first — use the Unlock tool with the document’s password, then run this tool on the result.
